The 2026 Talaria XXX Pro MX takes the compact, lightweight platform that made the original XXX so popular and gives it a serious off-road update. The big change is the redesigned rear suspension, now using a linkage system with 160mm of rear travel instead of the previous 120mm single-pivot setup. Talaria also adds a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear CST knobby tire combination, color TFT display, updated lighting, and a reinforced American-spec seat subframe.

At 125 lb with a 31.5-inch seat height, the XXX Pro MX stays noticeably smaller and lighter than the Sting R MX4. That makes it a great option for riders who want a maneuverable electric dirt bike that is easy to move around on tight trails, around the pits, or anywhere a full-size platform can start feeling bulky.

60V Power System with Sting R Motor DNA

Inside the XXX Pro MX is a 60V 40Ah max battery, rated at 38.4Ah nominal and approximately 2,400Wh. The pack uses 128 LG M50 21700 cells in a 16s8p configuration. The battery is built into the chassis for a compact design, but it can still be removed in roughly five minutes by removing the rear wheel and releasing the rear suspension fast-release system.

Talaria pairs that battery with its own Interior Permanent Magnet, or IPM, motor. This motor uses the same internal design found in the Sting R, including larger magnets and a magnetic encoder instead of traditional hall sensors. The result is a motor designed around strong efficiency, improved heat management, and better long-term reliability. Talaria rates the motor at up to 95% efficiency.

The magnetic encoder is an especially worthwhile detail. Hall sensors and magnet-related failures have historically been weak points in some earlier lightweight electric moto designs. Talaria's IPM setup removes the need for those hall sensors while also giving the motor the ability to operate efficiently at higher RPM. For riders considering future controller upgrades, the motor platform also gives you considerably more headroom than you might expect from a bike this compact.

New 160mm Linkage Rear Suspension

This is where the 2026 XXX Pro MX separates itself from the original XXX. Instead of the previous 120mm single-pivot rear suspension, Talaria redesigned the rear end around an all-new linkage system with 160mm of travel. It uses a 10.5-inch low-profile rear shock with a 550 x 850 lb dual-rate coil.

Up front, the bike uses a Talaria factory fork with 8 inches of travel. Combined with the new rear linkage and MX-oriented wheel package, the XXX Pro MX is much better suited to rough terrain, trail riding, and repeated impacts than the original street-focused XXX configuration.

19/17 CST MX Wheel Setup

The Pro MX comes equipped with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup with CST knobby off-road tires. The staggered wheel combination gives the bike a more dirt-oriented stance while keeping the overall chassis compact and responsive.

Braking is handled by 4-piston hydraulic brakes with 220mm rotors front and rear. The FOC sine-wave controller also provides four levels of regenerative braking, giving riders additional control over how much deceleration they want when rolling off the throttle.

Updated TFT Display and Lighting

The 2026 update includes a color TFT LCD display with accurate gear-ratio information. Talaria also upgraded the lighting package with a 3-LED headlight, handlebar-mounted light and kill switch, a repositioned crash-protected tail light, and a 6.5-inch rear fender.

Starting the bike remains simple with RFID activation, keeping the XXX clean and compact without a traditional ignition key hanging from the bike.

SGS Certified to UL 2849

The Talaria XXX platform has been independently tested by SGS and certified to UL 2849. This is important because UL 2849 evaluates the electrical system as a complete system rather than simply looking at the battery pack. Testing covers critical electrical subsystems including the battery, motor drive system, controller, wiring, and charger.

For riders comparing high-performance electric dirt bikes, that certification adds another layer of confidence behind the electrical platform rather than relying solely on component specifications.

XXX Pro MX vs. Sting R MX4

The XXX Pro MX shares a surprising amount of hardware DNA with the Talaria Sting R MX4. Both platforms use the Talaria IPM motor, FOC sine-wave controller, full suspension, smooth throttle system, 4-piston hydraulic brakes, and 220mm front and rear brake rotors.

The biggest differences are size, weight, battery design, and drivetrain layout. The XXX Pro MX weighs 125 lb compared with approximately 145 lb for the Sting R MX4, and its 31.5-inch seat height is two inches lower than the MX4's 33.5-inch seat height. The XXX uses a 40Ah built-in battery and belt reduction, while the Sting R MX4 uses a 45Ah quick-swappable battery and gearbox. The XXX also uses RFID starting rather than a conventional key.

For us, that is really what makes the XXX Pro MX interesting. You get much of the proven Sting R powertrain architecture in a smaller, roughly 20-pound lighter chassis. Add the new 160mm linkage suspension and 19/17 knobby setup, and the 2026 version is far more trail-ready than the original XXX without losing the nimble feel that made the platform fun in the first place.

Fitment and Rider Use

  • Compact trail riders: A strong choice for riders who want a lower 31.5-inch seat height and lighter 125 lb chassis for tight trails and technical terrain.
  • MX and off-road riders: The 160mm linkage rear suspension, 8-inch travel fork, 19/17 CST knobbies, and 220mm brakes give the Pro MX a much more dirt-focused setup.
  • Riders wanting Sting R DNA in a smaller bike: The Talaria IPM motor, FOC controller, hydraulic braking system, and updated suspension make the XXX Pro MX a compelling compact alternative to the larger Sting R platform.

Off-road use only: Adding an optional pedal kit does not convert the Talaria XXX Pro MX into a bicycle or make it street legal. Always check the laws and regulations where you plan to ride.
