Project 9 Performance Brake Pads | E Ride Pro, Talaria MX5, Altis Sigma and Large-Caliper E-Motos
Project 9 developed these high-performance brake pads specifically for the larger braking systems found on today’s faster, heavier e-moto platforms. After more than six months of testing, the available Copper Sintered and Ceramic compounds deliver a noticeable upgrade in braking bite, control, heat management, and consistency for everything from technical enduro riding to daily street use.
Brake pad compound makes a real difference in how a bike responds at the lever. Project 9 gives riders two purpose-built options, so you can choose stronger performance in extreme conditions or smoother, quieter braking for mixed trail and city riding.
Choose Your Brake Pad Compound
Copper Sintered Compound
The Copper Sintered compound is built for demanding riders who generate serious brake heat. It provides aggressive stopping power, dependable wet and dry grip, and the endurance needed for repeated hard braking on steep descents, technical terrain, or high-speed rides.
-
Race-ready stopping power: Strong initial bite for riders who need immediate braking response.
-
Superior heat resistance: Maintains more consistent performance during extended or repeated braking.
-
Wet and dry grip: Designed to remain dependable when trail and weather conditions change.
-
Long service life: Estimated lifespan of 14,000 to 24,000 miles, depending on riding conditions, braking habits, rotor condition, and bike setup.
Ceramic Compound
The Ceramic compound is a strong choice for trail and city riders who want controlled braking with less noise. Its smooth modulation makes it easier to manage traction and apply braking force progressively, especially on loose trails, pavement, and mixed-use rides.
-
Low-noise operation: Designed for riders who prefer a quieter braking setup.
-
Stable heat control: Helps maintain predictable braking performance as temperatures rise.
-
Smooth modulation: Provides a more progressive lever feel for controlled braking.
-
Rotor-friendly longevity: Balances dependable pad life with reduced rotor wear.

Fitment note: Large-caliper conversions can use different caliper and pad shapes. Compare your original pads with the product images and confirm caliper compatibility before ordering.
Rotor Replacement Recommendation
We highly recommend replacing your brake rotors when switching to a different pad compound. Used rotors retain material from the previous pads, which can interfere with the new compound’s bedding process. Starting with fresh, properly cleaned rotors helps maximize stopping power, improve consistency, and reduce unwanted brake noise.
What Makes These Pads Stand Out
These are among the first upgraded brake pad options developed around the braking demands of high-performance e-motos such as the E Ride Pro 3.0, E Ride Pro SR, Talaria MX5, and Altis Sigma. The Copper Sintered option stands out for heat resistance and forceful braking under aggressive use, while the Ceramic option delivers quieter operation and smoother control for everyday riding. Both compounds are designed to give large-caliper e-moto riders a more focused alternative to standard replacement pads.
Choose the compound that matches your normal riding conditions, or keep both available if you regularly switch between hard off-road use and quieter street or trail riding.
