Can the Explorer 2000 v2 Charge an E-Moto?

Yes, the Explorer 2000 v2 can power many compatible e-moto chargers that require no more than its 2,200W continuous AC output. What matters is the AC input wattage of your charger, not the kW rating of the motor in your bike.

For example, a charger requiring 1,500W is within the Explorer 2000 v2's continuous output capability. If your charger requires more than 2,200W continuously, this would not be the right Jackery for that charger.

Do not use the 4,400W surge rating when determining charger compatibility. Surge power is available for short-duration demands from compatible equipment. An e-moto charger operates for an extended period, so the 2,200W continuous rating is the important number.

How Much E-Moto Charging Can You Expect?

Output tells us whether the Jackery can operate the charger. Battery capacity tells us how much energy is actually available for the bike.

The Explorer 2000 v2 stores 2,042Wh, or 2.042kWh. Many modern performance e-motos have batteries larger than 2kWh, so even if the Jackery can run your charger, that doesn't automatically mean it can completely recharge the bike from empty.

There are also normal efficiency losses through the inverter, charger, wiring, and battery charging process. You should not expect every one of the Explorer's 2,042Wh to reach the bike battery.

For larger e-motos, we would look at the Explorer 2000 v2 as a useful top-off, partial recharge, or range-extension power source. If your goal is repeated full charges of a large e-moto battery, one of the larger Jackery systems or a properly sized generator may be a better fit.
