The Beachman '64 Light Motorcycle (LM) takes the vintage cafe racer look of the Beachman '64 and turns it into a road-focused electric motorcycle capable of reaching 50 mph. Hand-built in North America, the '64 LM is made for riders who want a lightweight, approachable electric motorcycle for commuting, running around town, and turning an ordinary coffee run into an excuse to take the long way home.

This is not the pedal-equipped Beachman '64 e-bike and it should not be treated like one. The '64 LM has no pedals, uses a 3000W 72V brushless hub motor, and is designed to be registered, insured, and operated as a road-legal motorcycle. That gives you a very different riding experience, with more speed and road capability while keeping the compact proportions and classic styling that make the '64 so much fun around town.

72V Power With a Removable 3.6 kWh Battery

At the center of the Beachman '64 LM is a 72V 50Ah removable lithium battery with 3.6 kWh of capacity. Beachman rates the motorcycle for up to 55 miles of range in city use or approximately 30 miles when ridden at full throttle. Actual range will vary with speed, rider weight, terrain, temperature, tire pressure, and riding conditions.

The battery includes a built-in charge port and is paired with a 120V charger capable of reaching approximately 80% charge in 4 hours. Beachman estimates up to 65,000 km, or roughly 10 years, of lifetime range from the 50Ah battery under appropriate use and conditions. The battery is also lab certified to meet UL 2271 safety standards.

Made for Real Everyday Riding

The '64 LM uses a durable steel frame and rolls on 18-inch wheels with 3-inch mixed-use tires. Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear provide the stopping power needed for everyday street riding, while the approximately 31-inch seat height keeps the motorcycle approachable compared with many full-size motorcycles.

Beachman also gives the LM the equipment needed for street use, including DOT-compliant turn signals, horn, LED headlight, and LED display. A steering lock and anti-theft alarm add practical security when you're parked around town. There is even room for two riders, within the motorcycle's 300 lb weight limit.

One of the things we like about the '64 platform is that it does not try to look like an appliance just because it is electric. You get the simplicity of an electric drivetrain, but the seating position, steel chassis, 18-inch wheels, cafe racer proportions, and motorcycle controls make the experience feel much closer to riding a small motorcycle than a typical commuter e-bike or scooter.

There are no returns after the motorcycle has been delivered. If a Beachman '64 LM order is canceled before the motorcycle has been manufactured, a $500 restocking fee applies.
