Tomahawk TG12000iT 12000W Tri-Fuel Inverter Generator | E-Moto Charging, Home Backup & 120V/240V Power

Big Power with Gasoline, Propane or Natural Gas

The Tomahawk TG12000iT Tri-Fuel Inverter Generator is built for situations where a small portable generator simply isn't enough. This is a high-output power system capable of running on gasoline, propane (LPG), or natural gas, giving you three fuel options for e-moto charging, home backup, emergency preparedness, RV use, jobsites, race support, and off-grid power.

On gasoline, the TG12000iT delivers up to 12,000 maximum watts and 11,500 rated watts. Output remains substantial on alternative fuels, with 10,500 rated watts on propane and 9,500 rated watts on natural gas. That flexibility can be a major advantage during extended outages or emergencies when your preferred fuel isn't readily available.

For e-moto riders, this generator is well beyond a basic single-bike charging solution. With 120V and 240V output, ≤3% total harmonic distortion, a 550cc engine, 6.9-gallon fuel tank, electric and remote starting, and multiple high-amperage outlets, the TG12000iT can become the power center for a multi-bike race team, large riding group, shop, trailer, or serious off-grid setup.

Tomahawk TG12000iT 12000 Watt Tri-Fuel Inverter Generator

Tri-Fuel Backup Power

The standout feature of the TG12000iT is right in the name: tri-fuel capability. Instead of depending exclusively on gasoline, this generator can operate on gasoline, propane, or natural gas.

That flexibility is valuable during emergencies and extended outages. Gasoline is portable and widely available, propane stores well for backup use, and a compatible natural gas connection can provide another option when the generator is being used around a home or other properly equipped location.

Generator output changes depending on which fuel you use, so always size your electrical loads around the appropriate rated output for the fuel currently powering the generator.

Power Output by Fuel Type

  • Gasoline: 11,500W rated / 12,000W maximum
  • Propane / LPG: 10,500W rated / 11,000W maximum
  • Natural Gas: 9,500W rated / 10,000W maximum

Even on natural gas, the TG12000iT provides 9,500 watts of rated output. That's a substantial amount of continuous power for compatible chargers, appliances, tools, electronics, lighting, refrigeration, and other equipment.

Clean Inverter Power

Big output is useful, but power quality matters too. The TG12000iT uses inverter technology with total harmonic distortion rated at ≤3%, providing clean, stable output for compatible sensitive electronics in addition to traditional appliances and heavy-duty equipment.

For an e-moto charging setup, this is especially useful when one generator may be running several expensive chargers, bikes, computers, phones, communication equipment, and other electronics at the same time.

120V & 240V Multi-Outlet Power

The TG12000iT includes four 120V outlets, one 30A 120V/240V outlet, and one 50A 240V outlet. This gives you considerably more flexibility than a small portable generator and allows the TG12000iT to support a much broader range of compatible equipment.

For e-moto charging, always verify the input requirements of your charger before connecting it. Never connect a 120V-only charger to 240V. Some higher-output e-moto chargers can accept 240V input, but that must be confirmed through the charger manufacturer's specifications.

What Size Generator Do I Need for My E-Moto?

Choosing a generator for your e-moto is pretty simple: size it based on your charger, not your bike's motor. A 20kW e-moto does not need a 20,000W generator.

Quick Formula:
Charger Watts + Other Equipment + 20 to 30% Headroom = Recommended Generator Size

Example: If your e-moto charger uses 1,000W and you want another 300W available for lights, a fridge, phones, or other gear:

1,000W + 300W = 1,300W

Add about 25% headroom and you should look for roughly 1,600W or more of continuous/running output.

The TG12000iT is designed for much larger loads. On gasoline, you have up to 11,500W of rated continuous output. That makes this generator far more appropriate for multi-bike charging stations, high-output chargers, race support, trailers, home backup, and situations where charging e-motos is only one part of the total electrical demand.

Remember that the available rated power changes with fuel type. Use 11,500W on gasoline, 10,500W on propane, or 9,500W on natural gas when calculating your available continuous generator capacity.

If your charger lists AC input voltage and amperage rather than watts, you can get a quick estimate using Volts x Amps = Watts. When available, use the charger's listed AC input wattage or manufacturer specifications for the most accurate number.

Building a Multi-Bike Charging Station

This is where a generator in the TG12000iT's class really starts to make sense. A large race team, riding group, shop, or multi-bike household may have several chargers running at the same time.

For example, four chargers drawing 2,000W each would create approximately an 8,000W continuous load. On gasoline, that would still leave additional rated generator capacity for compatible pit equipment, lighting, electronics, or other loads.

Five 1,500W chargers would create approximately a 7,500W charging load. Again, the number of bikes you can actually charge simultaneously depends on each charger's AC input requirements and how the loads are connected.

Always calculate the complete electrical load and leave reasonable operating headroom. Don't determine charging capacity simply by counting available outlets.

Gasoline vs. Propane vs. Natural Gas

Each fuel option has its own advantages. Gasoline provides the TG12000iT's highest available output and is easy to transport. Propane can be convenient for storage and emergency preparedness. Natural gas can be useful for compatible home backup installations where an appropriate gas supply is available.

The tradeoff is output. The generator produces its highest rated power on gasoline, followed by propane and then natural gas. If you're planning a high-demand charging or backup setup, calculate your loads based on the fuel you actually intend to use.

Home & Emergency Backup

The TG12000iT isn't limited to recreational use. With its high output, tri-fuel capability, and 120V/240V connections, it is designed to support compatible refrigerators, freezers, sump pumps, HVAC equipment, household appliances, electronics, and other essential loads during an outage.

Connecting a portable generator to home electrical circuits requires the correct transfer equipment and installation. Never backfeed a home through a wall outlet. Home backup connections should follow generator manufacturer instructions and applicable electrical requirements.

Emergency EV Charging

The TG12000iT's high output and 240V capability may make it relevant for some emergency Tesla or other EV charging situations, but EV charging has additional electrical, grounding, EVSE, and vehicle compatibility requirements.

Having a 50A 240V outlet and sufficient generator output does not automatically make the generator compatible with an EV. Verify the generator, EVSE, vehicle, grounding requirements, outlet configuration, and charging equipment before attempting EV charging.

Electric & Remote Start

A generator this size shouldn't require a wrestling match every time you need power. The TG12000iT includes electric start and remote start, making startup much easier around the home, shop, campsite, trailer, or jobsite.

Built for Serious Portable Power

The TG12000iT uses a 550cc, 4-stroke OHV engine operating at a rated 3,600 RPM. A heavy-duty steel frame, rugged wheels, and integrated mobility features help make the 271 lb generator manageable when it needs to be repositioned.

With a 6.9-gallon / 25-liter fuel tank, the generator provides up to 8.6 hours of runtime at 25% load.
