EBMX Warranty Information

EBMX Warranty Terms & Conditions Summary

Subject to the limitations, terms, and conditions herein, EBMX GLOBAL warrants to the original retail purchaser that the EBMX GLOBAL controller and motor will be free from defects in manufacturing workmanship under normal intended use and service for the following periods:

  • EBMX Motor used with third-party controller: 6 months (only where it is clear the motor is faulty)
  • EBMX motor and controller combination: 2 years
  • EBMX Controller stand-alone: 2 years
  • Cables and connectors: 6 months
  • Motor hall sensor / encoder: 2 years

Warranty valid only for the original purchaser. An original invoice or proof of purchase is required.

Examples of items not covered

  • Any modifications to products (including changing settings outside recommended limits, installing third-party software)
  • Minor scratches, marks, or imperfections
  • Damage from external causes (environmental factors, negligent/incorrect use, incorrect installation, tampering, traffic accidents, or shipping/courier damage)
  • Damage due to normal wear and tear or maintenance
  • Poor maintenance or any modifications to the controller or motor
  • Casing opened
  • Loss or theft

Warranty Terms & Conditions

For the avoidance of doubt: EBMX GLOBAL makes no representations or warranties regarding any other warranties or product support that may be offered by the product manufacturer. The warranties and product support offered by EBMX GLOBAL are in addition to consumer warranties and guarantees under your country’s consumer law.

EBMX GLOBAL agrees to repair or replace the product it supplied, at its cost, if the product does not perform in accordance with EBMX GLOBAL specifications during the warranty period due to manufacturer faults.

  • The standard warranty period commences on the date of delivery or collection. If there is no proof of delivery, the delivery date is assumed to be 3 business days from dispatch.
  • These benefits are in addition to rights and remedies available under law.
  • Proof of purchase must be provided when requesting service, and customers must reasonably assist EBMX GLOBAL in diagnosing faults.
  • Any repair under warranty must be approved by EBMX GLOBAL. Unapproved repairs void the warranty.
  • If products are faulty or damaged upon delivery, provide photographic evidence to the dealer to determine repair or replacement per their shipping terms.
  • Inspect all goods upon arrival. Report transit damage to the dealer within 7 days of receipt; failure to report may result in denial of physical damage warranty.
  • EBMX GLOBAL may replace (rather than repair) with the same or closest current model at its discretion. Replacement does not extend or restart the warranty period.
  • If repair or replacement is not possible, EBMX GLOBAL may provide credit or refund for the product price (excluding delivery cost), at its election.
  • Product is at the customer’s risk while in transit to/from the authorised repair centre.
  • EBMX GLOBAL may seek reimbursement if the product is found to be in working order or if the warranty is void/not applicable.
  • EBMX GLOBAL has reasonable discretion to determine performance relative to specifications and industry expectations, subject to applicable law.
  • The warranty is not transferable to a new owner.

Exclusions (to the full extent permitted by law)

  • Product not installed, operated, maintained, or used per manufacturer instructions/specifications
  • Factory-applied serial number altered or removed
  • Damage/failure from alterations (hardware or software), accident, misuse, abuse, fire, liquid, mis-adjustment, incorrect voltage, power surges/dips, storms, force majeure, voltage problems, tampering or unauthorised repairs, defective/incompatible accessories, exposure to high-pressure washing/chemicals/excessive sunlight/abnormally corrosive conditions, or ingress by insects/vermin/foreign objects
  • Damage during transportation/installation/moving; transportation costs unless otherwise specified
  • Any third-party software/hardware not originally configured in the product
  • Defective pixel incidences for digital products
  • Failures not related to the product’s specified performance
  • Service/support of any OS or application, except restoring to factory defaults

To the full extent permitted by law, EBMX GLOBAL is not liable for loss, damage, or alterations to third-party hardware/software/data, or for loss of use, profits, or revenue, or any indirect/consequential loss or damage. EBMX GLOBAL’s aggregate liability for all claims under the warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product or, at EBMX GLOBAL’s option, replacement with a like or similar product. EBMX GLOBAL excludes all other warranties, conditions, terms, representations, and undertakings whether express or implied.

These warranty terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Hong Kong, insofar as they apply to EBMX GLOBAL products supplied by EBMX GLOBAL or its authorised dealers.

All warranties are void if any EBMX GLOBAL products are modified, rebuilt, or opened. This warranty does not cover the cost of any repairs or loss to your bike, persons, or other property.

Warranty Registration, Questions & Claims

  • Register your product for warranty at www.ebmx.com via the form on the Technical Support page.
  • All warranty claims must be submitted via the original dealer you purchased from; the dealer will submit the claim to EBMX GLOBAL.
