E Ride Pro Mini R Assembly Guide & Video

Watch and wrench along with our included step-by-step assembly video.

Stop Here First: Shipping Damage Check

  1. Inspect the outside of the box for dents, punctures, crushed corners, or torn straps.
  2. Open the box and inspect the bike for scratches, bends, cracked plastics, or damaged components.
  3. If you see any damage, take photos and do not continue assembly.
  4. Contact REV Rides right away at: https://revrides.com/contact
  5. Keep all packaging undamaged until you confirm the bike is undamaged and fully operational.

Quick tip: Flip the box upside down and toss packing materials into it as you work. Cleanup is way easier.

Tools and Supplies

Tools (bike includes a tool kit)

  • 14mm socket + ratchet (or impact)
  • 19mm wrench/socket (front axle hardware shown)
  • 6mm Allen key (rear shock bolt)
  • 13mm open-end wrench (rear shock nut)
  • 5mm Allen key (handlebar clamp)
  • 4mm Allen key (pinch bolts and fender hardware shown)
  • 3mm Allen key (display mount)
  • Flush cutters/scissors (zip ties)

Supplies (recommended)

  • Medium strength blue Loctite (do not use red)
  • Grease (front axle)
  • Gloves (optional, but helpful)

Setup Notes

  • Clip zip ties carefully. Do not clip any wires.
  • Save a few zip ties as spares for future trail fixes.
  • Do not over-tighten. Many fasteners thread into aluminum and can snap if you crank them.
  • To avoid injury, always use two people when lifting the bike.

Step-by-Step Assembly

1) Unbox and Remove Packaging

  1. Remove the box and top packing.
  2. Pull out the accessory boxes and set aside.
  3. Remove protective plastic and foam from the bike.
  4. Locate the keys zip-tied near the bar mount and remove them. Put a key into the battery lock for now, or in a safe place.

2) Remove Bike From the Pallet

  1. Remove the two through-bolts holding the bike to the pallet.
Tool: 14mm socket + ratchet (impact optional)
  2. Release the fork tension straps. Put light body weight on the bike to unload the strap, then press the latch to release. Save straps if desired.
  3. With a helper, lift the bike onto a stand. Lift from the rear wheel and under the frame. If the bike tips forward, slide it back on the stand.

3) Battery Removal (Recommended During Assembly)

  1. Open the battery lid. Push down, turn, then lift. It may take a bit of force.
  2. Disconnect the battery connector. Press the latch and wiggle free. It is tight because it is watertight.
  3. Lift the battery out and set it somewhere safe.

4) Charge the Battery

  1. Plug charger into the battery first (per manual).
  2. Plug charger into the wall.
  3. Confirm charge level on the charger display.

5) Rear Shock Installation

  1. Align the rear shock and install the bolt and nut.
    Tools: 6mm Allen + 13mm wrench
  2. Tighten snug.

Preload check: Grab the spring and ensure it is not loose or rattling. If needed, adjust preload until the spring is secure, then add a small amount of tension.

6) Front Wheel Installation

  1. Back out the fork pinch bolts.
    Tool: 4mm Allen
  2. Check for Loctite. If none, apply a small amount of blue Loctite to each pinch bolt and thread them back in a few turns. Do not tighten yet.
  3. Remove the axle as needed (avoid hammering metal-on-metal).
  4. Remove the brake pad spacer from the caliper.
  5. Grease the axle lightly.
  6. Install wheel spacers and wheel: brake-side spacer first, slide axle through, install opposite spacer, push axle fully through, align fork legs.
  7. Snug pinch bolts evenly, alternating back and forth.
Important: Snug only. Aluminum threads can snap if over-tightened.
  8. Snug axle hardware (19mm shown). No major force required.

Torque note: If you are unsure, look up torque specs by bolt size and material. Pinch bolts are commonly in the low Nm range. Snug is the target.

7) Front Fender Installation

  1. Identify bolts: shoulder bolts (front), cap head bolts (rear).
  2. Apply blue Loctite to fender bolts.
  3. Start with a rear bolt first to make alignment easier.
    Tool: 4mm Allen
  4. Install the second rear bolt, then the two front shoulder bolts.
  5. Snug down. Do not over-tighten.

8) Handlebar and Controls Installation

  1. Remove handlebar clamp bolts. Tool: 5mm Allen
  2. Confirm wire routing so nothing gets pinched.
  3. Slide components onto the bars (brake assembly, throttle). Display mounts later.
  4. Apply blue Loctite to bar clamp bolts.
  5. Start all bolts by hand. Snug in a cross pattern: 1-2-3-4, then repeat.
  6. Center bars and keep clamp gaps even.

Display mount: Route behind/over the bar as shown.
Tool: 3mm Allen. Snug only. Do not strip.

9) Rear Mud Guard Installation

Install the rear mud guard per the kit. The video notes using an Allen wrench through the chain area for access while tightening.

10) Foot Peg Installation and Peg Position Options

  1. Choose your peg setup: forward position (smaller riders/cruising) or drop mounts (often better for taller riders).
  2. Apply blue Loctite to peg bolts.
  3. Install bolts by hand first.
    Tool shown: 5mm Allen
  4. Tighten snug. Do not cross-thread. These thread into the frame.
  5. Repeat on the other side.

11) Dial In Controls and Lever Angles

  1. Sit on the bike and set levers to match your natural arm angle.
  2. Aim for levers in line with your forearm when standing.
  3. Tuck levers inward enough to reduce damage if the bike tips over.
  4. Confirm throttle snaps back cleanly and does not stick.
  5. Place horn, reverse, headlight switch, and display where you want them.

Brake fluid note: As shown in the video, this setup appears to use mineral oil, not DOT fluid.

12) Cable Management and Number Plate

  1. Zip tie wires neatly near the bar area.
  2. Protect the rear brake line: do not bend it sharply, and leave slack for full steering lock.
  3. Zip tie wires snug, not crushing. You should still be able to move the bundle slightly.
  4. Trim zip ties carefully. Do not cut wires.
  5. Install number plate with four zip ties. Do not zip tie around brake lines or wiring. Tighten evenly and trim tails.

13) Foam Padding (Battery Anti-Rattle)

  • The bike may already have foam installed.
  • Keep extra foam. If you hear vibration later, look for rub marks and add foam where needed.

14) Install Battery and Confirm Connections

  1. Place the battery into the compartment. Make sure wiring is out of the way.
  2. Confirm battery is fully seated.
  3. If you see an open connector/port, do not worry. That is typically a communications port and it is normal.
  4. Use the battery button to check state of charge if desired.
