Hello all I purchased my Vsett 8 from RevRides this October I wanted to talk to someone to get more info on the scooter. The sales representative was really patient and helpful on helping me choose the right model for me. I live in San Francisco and the Vsett 8 has exceeded my expectations on these neglected roads I'm 250lbs and it takes me well over 24mph I hit 15mph on most inclines. I was originally going to buy a segway ninebot max. But vsett scooters offer so much more in my opinion suspension turn signals nfc card reader more power. Im in-love with my vsett 8 but definitely craving more speed going to try to pickup a 9+ or 10+ Soon. Range is about 20miles for me as I go up a-lot of medium sized hills with the 15.ah battery.
The VSETT 8 was purchased as a Christmas gift for my son. As a result, I haven't assembled it to let him ride it until then. I hope to give you guys a full review soon.
I was really enjoying my Vsett8 until I got a flat tire. I really dislike the fact that the front tire is not solid rubber. I got a flat about a week after purchasing it (or at 35 miles.) I understand that the manufactureres believe an inner tube tire provides a smoother ride but I really don’t think it is necessary. The front suspension is amazing, as is the rear. Why make it complicated. What people want is low maintenence. Who wants to be changing flat tires? And apparently, you cannot retrofit the front tire with solid rubber. Now, I’m stuck having to change tires every week or so, I suppose. I will not purchase another scooter that does not have solid rubber tires.
In defense of this unit, I am a big guy. 6’3, 210lbs which puts me right at the limit for this unit. It performs well on paved surfaces with slight grade. It starts to struggle mightily on grass or paved surfaces with 10-degrees or more of grade. My son is 6’ and 130. It zips him around the neighborhood easily. My only other issue with this unit is the location of the throttle. It is operated by your index finger and is in an awkward position. Bottom lime is if you are over 180lbs or so, get a more powerful unit with larger wheels.
Awesome product. Just a bit heavy if you are carrying it folded w one hand.
